Kickboxen in Utrecht — Tigers Gym

from experiment to community

an idea that started moving

I believe in the power of the experiment: starting from an idea, a dream, a vision. With a clear (personal) mission and values. Just do it, and then see where the ship runs aground.
That is how Tigers Gym came about in 2021 too — simply three people in the Griftpark.

By moving people and getting them going with kickboxing as the means, I build our Tigers Gym community a little further every day. A place in the middle of the city where everyone is welcome.

OSU - Ingmar Creutzburg

Our team

Here you train with people who know how it feels to start. Trainers with attention, energy and each their own story. Together we make sure you can go hard, at your own pace.

Ingmar

Kickboxing trainer and breath coach with energy pouring out of his ears. Mornings, evenings, every session full, and always with a big grin. His creativity knows no limits either — new ideas and concepts roll out of him every month.

Hannah

Hannah is a professional dancer and our mobility and stretch trainer. Want to learn how to 'casually' put a leg around someone's neck? Then these are the classes for you.

Mark

The kind of Thai boxer who is technically flawless. A so-called 'complete' fighter with a real eye for detail and technique. He also has over 30 years in education, and brings that teaching instinct everywhere he goes.

Federico

Italian kickboxing champion, who hits so as not to be hit. A strategic kickboxer who fights like a game of chess. With the calm of the king, the speed of the bishop and the leaps of the knight, he will lay a shin across your neck almost affectionately, with a big smile…

Michael

A scrapper who gives everything, with relentless passion, energy and attention. High tempo from start to finish. And no stranger to humour either.

Fenna

Calm, attentive and observant — until she puts her gloves on. Then she turns into a low-kick machine and the punches and kicks come flying. Not one you want to run into in the dark…

Rico

Maud

Always bounces in at full energy. And bounces out after training with even more! Loves to help, to grow people and to learn new things along the way. Need energy? Call Maud.

Farley

Quiet fighter with more energy than a Duracell bunny. Still running in his sleep. A bag session with him guarantees plenty of sweat.

Ivar

Kickboxing trainer and yoga teacher — turns out those go together perfectly. Tension on the inhale, a smile and a punch on the exhale. Ivar is highly technical and warm company in the best Brabant tradition.

Sara

Half Italian, half Dutch, but everything else is full measure: control, razor-sharp technique and a lot of power. Wondering what is behind that infectious smile? That.

Dave

Filipino people person. Calm, precise and full of personal attention. But look away for a second and he plants a solid low kick on your thigh — then smiles it away so graciously you wonder whether it happened at all.

Maike

Kickboxing since 2008. Usually a morning person. Fast, fierce, a touch serious and very technical. Not tall — which is exactly why her high kicks are razor sharp.

Jacob

A clever fighter with huge energy who always works tactically. Looks for the strengths in others and in himself, and builds on them.

Jeroen

Works continuously and smoothly, with a smile that never leaves. High, low, but above all hard and intense. Then carries on his way, still laughing.

Kiek

Kiek runs our Social Club, where she launches and looks after social projects with real drive and care. Her huge warm smile is indispensable. So is her body kick.

Tom

You cannot punch or kick the enthusiasm out of him. But no worries — when it comes down to it, Tom looks after you like a true brother.

Paul

Quietly observant, Paul kicks hard while placing his punches with curiosity. All shapes and sizes are welcome with him for attention, a laugh and mental resilience — something he knows plenty about.

Tara

Tara is a true southpaw. A preference for the left, but just as happy fighting from the right. Her smile is sociable, well-loved and challenging all at once. Much like her jab on your nose.

Alkan

This light-footed giant from Turkey alternates a thunderous voice with a warm smile. Loves the details of kickboxing, but will also have you dripping with sweat. There is no missing his energy — or his frame.

Values

Shake hands

Kickboxing is always something you do together. So before you train, you always introduce yourself to your partner. That way nobody is anonymous and everyone is 'seen'. Shake hands is a term from boxing.

Each one teach one

Whatever your level, you are always teacher and student at the same time. We teach you that you grow most from curiosity and genuine interest. Each one teach one comes from Hip Hop culture.

Mi casa es tu casa

Everyone is always welcome with us. That is why all our dojos have living rooms, shoes come off at the front door and the good coffee is free. For many people we are a second home!

Ubuntu

"I am because we are".  We believe we are all connected, that we want to do good and be there for one another. Looking out for each other. That is what we encourage and that is what makes Tigers Gym so unique! Ubuntu comes from Africa.

Mission

train to love yourself a little bit louder
